Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for achieving another technological feat in space. The propulsion module of Chandryaan-3 made a successful landing on the moon back in August. In another unique experiment, the propulsion module has been brought from lunar orbit to Earth orbit. ISRO has proved that India can send spacecraft to the moon and they can also bring the spacecraft back to earth if necessary.
ISRO posted on Twitter, “Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Propulsion Module (PM) of CH-3 makes a successful detour! In another unique experiment, the PM is brought from lunar orbit to Earth orbit. After the success of the Chandrayaan 3 mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the next target. India’s astronaut is going to set foot on the moon shortly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X, “Congratulations @isro. Another technology milestone achieved in our future space endeavours includes our goal to send an Indian to the Moon by 2040.”

The primary objective of the Chandrayaan-3 mission was to soft landing near the south polar region of the Moon and conduct experiments using the instruments on lander Vikram and rover Pragyan. India became the first country to successfully land in the south-polar region of the moon. The spacecraft was launched from Sriharikota on 14 July 2023. Chandrayaan 3 landed on the lunar surface on August 23. The primary mission of Chandrayaan-3 has been completely accomplished. Chandrayaan 3’s primary mission is to provide soil and weather information on the Moon’s south pole.
