The construction of AI cities is rapidly increasing worldwide, with the first AI city set to be established in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. A joint initiative between the government and private organizations, this city aims to blend technology into every aspect of urban life, fostering technological innovation and financial development. Chief Minister Yogi, leading the development under the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Limited, envisions creating a trillion-dollar economy in the next 5 years, with a focus on boosting small and medium industries.
The designated 40-acre land for the AI city, situated in the Nadarganj industrial area, just 3 km from Lucknow International Airport, is strategically located along the Lucknow-Kanpur highway. This prime location, coupled with improved connectivity, makes it an ideal setting for an AI city. The city will boast world-class facilities, including research centres, educational institutions, luxury apartments, cutting-edge technology, and AI-based transportation systems.

Notably, Noida, also in Uttar Pradesh, has already established a thriving tech ecosystem, hosting major IT companies like HCL and TCS. The addition of the AI city in Lucknow is expected to further enhance India’s global contribution to AI advancement. Overall, the development showcases a significant step towards integrating AI into urban infrastructure and fostering economic growth.
