Animal controversy | The film is too much toxic

Ranbir Kapoor’s recently released film Animal is not only doing well in India but also foreign countries. As of Wednesday, the film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga has grossed 481 crore rupees in just 5 days. The film is expected to enter the 500 crore rupees worldwide club today.

According to the media, Animal collected 116 crore rupees on its release day, 120 crore rupees on Saturday, 120 crore rupees on Sunday and 69 crore rupees on Monday. Yesterday the number was 56 crore rupees worldwide. Animal has become Ranbir Kapoor’s second biggest hit after Sanju. Sanju (2018) was a massive success at the box office, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. In the next few days, Animal is likely to surpass any other films.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and others. Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur was released in theatres along with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal on December 1. Despite facing tough competition, Sam Bahadur has managed to hold its position and is going strong at the box office. The film has collected around 40 crore rupees at the box office.

Ranveer’s performance in ‘Animal’ is amazing, he has given one of the best performances of his career in this movie. But this film has given birth to a new controversy. The biggest reason for this criticism is its philosophy. All those who watched the film claim that it is a misogynistic film. The film not only disrespected women but also showed ‘toxic masculinity.’ Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was heavily criticized after the release of ‘Arjun Reddy’ in Telugu or his remake ‘Kabir Singh’ in Hindi. Critics questioned the violence shown against women on screen.
